The Birmingham History Day, organised by the Centre for West Midlands History Research at The University of Birmingham, provides and opportunity to hear about recent publications, projects and heritage activities in the city.

This event provides delegates with the opportunity to listen to those who are drawing attention to local history, introduced by Dr Malcolm Dick, University of Birmingham.

A number of local projects will be announced, including that of Dr Caroline Archer, Birmingham City University, who will consider the neglected area of Birmingham's typographical history from William Calson I, and onwards; Dr Sian Roberets will be discussion the new work of Birmingham Archives & Heritage, Henrietta Lockhart will explain how the new History Gallery at Birmingham museum are taking shape and Michael Wood will be drawing attention to a series of videos he his filming on the history of workshops and factories that were once part of the city's manufacturing heritage.
